Seton Catholic swept its three-game series against Columbia High last week. The Bruins lost 12-0 and 17-4 in a home doubleheader on April 26, and they fell, 13-5, on April 29.

The No. 4-ranked Dufur/South Wasco County High Rangers remained undefeated in Class 2A/1A Special District 7 baseball, sweeping No. 12-ranked Heppner (7-4 SD7, 8-8 overall), 5-0 and 11-7, on April 29 at Dufur High School.

Hood River Valley junior Elliot Hawley and sophomore Simone Tillman raced to runner-up finishes Friday at the Dean Nice Invitational track and field meet — Hawley in his specialty, Tillman in her newfound specialty. And, just for good measure, Tillman tossed in a first place in her old specialty.

Columbia High’s softball team will take a five-game league win streak into its final regular-season league series against King’s Way next week.

The young Bruins (13-2 overall, 5-2 Trico League) will play a doubleheader May 11 at King’s Way Christian in Vancouver. The two teams will play a single game May 13 in White Salmon.

The Hood River girls lacrosse team has hit a rough spot in its season.

After a 20-5 defeat at the hands of Class 3A Oregon Episcopal School (OES), the Eagles have now lost five straight league games in the Portland Interscholastic League (PIL). Hood River is the sole 5A school in the PIL for girls lacrosse. Despite the losses, first-year head coach and athletic trainer Lauren Oaks continues to instill a positive mindset in her players on and off the turf.
