WHITE SALMON – Eda O’Connor placed third and Kristina Barkhimer fourth to lead the Columbia High School girls wrestling team at the 2026 District 4 1B/2B/1A tournament Feb. 14 in Montesano.
O’Connor won four of five matches to place third at 120 pounds and qualify for this week’s state tournament. O’Connor beat junior Anna Guenther of Napavine, 7-2, in the third-place match. Guenther won three matches at the 2025 WIAA state tourney at 115 pounds. Maleah Chacon of Tenino won by a major decision over O’Connor in the semifinal before the Columbia wrestler won both of her consolation matches.
Barkhimer won two of her four wrestled matches and placed fourth at 170 pounds. She lost in the semifinals to eventual champion M Kunkel of Napavine but rebounded to win one of two consolation matches to finish fourth and earn a spot at state.
Sylvia Pimley also qualified for state at 160 pounds, placing sixth at districts.
The 2026 WIAA girls 1B/2B/1A state tournament is Feb. 20-21 at the Tacoma Dome.
