HOOD RIVER — For the month of October, Hood River Valley High School's water polo teams are going PINK! The water polo teams are doing their part to fight breast cancer by increasing awareness and raising funds to donate to research. While all the pink is fun, the team wants to remind our community about the importance of early detection through regular screenings and asks for donations for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
How the community can get involved:
• Come to the pool any Tuesday in October to see the pink in action: JV at 4 p.m., Varsity Boys at 5 p.m., and Varsity Girls at 6 p.m.Â
• The biggest, PINKEST game day is Tuesday Oct. 13 vs Hillsboro. Wear pink and cheer on the Eagles in a classic 5A rivalry match-up!Â
• Donate to the BCRF fundraiser at www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/pink-october-for-breast-cancer-research.
Head Coach Kellie Dunn added, "The HRVHS water polo teams want to honor those who are battling and have fought breast cancer, so this month we play for them!"
