THE DALLES — The Dalles High will have three representatives at the OSAA Class 4A state wrestling tournament later this month after each finished third at the Feb. 14 Special District 4 meet in Madras.
Harley Scott, Aiden Flores and Kaedyn Linker finished third at district to earn one of four berths into the state tourney, Feb. 26-27 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
Scott will be making a return trip to the finals after he won four matches at district. He lost his first-round match 8-3 to Abel Nelson of La Grande but battled back to secure a spot at state with his four successive victories at 138 pounds.
Flores, at 144 pounds, and Linker, a 215, took more of a convention route to third place, after each lost in the semifinals. Flores lost to 2025 state tourney wrestler Brylor Anderson of La Grande but won his next two matches, including the third-place showdown over Isaac Cervantez of Ontario. Linker lost to Santiago Olivas of Ontario in the semifinals before winning his final two matches by fall.
The Dalles had three fifth-place finishers: Danner Varland (106); Eoin Herman (285); and Gabe Phipps (157). Herman and Phipps each won two district matches.
The Dalles was sixth in the team competition, won by La Grade with Pendleton finishing second. Also contributing to the Riverhawk team score were Jesus Chavez (165) and Liam Jensen (132), as both won a district match.
