HOOD RIVER — 301 Gallery and Friends of the Columbia Gorge are pleased to announce their third annual combined exhibition “INSPIRED! III — Trailblazers.”
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, the showcase aims to honor the trails, scenic views, and conservation works that shape our connection to the landscape, ensuring its protection for generations to come.
This year’s 22 select regional artists hit the trails throughout the Scenic Area to discover and take inspiration from what stops them in their tracks — whether it’s a pathway onward, or vistas, flora, and fauna found along the way. Their artworks will then be curated and displayed at 301 Gallery by member artists Polly Wood and renowned painter Cathleen Rehfield in downtown Hood River through the months of June and July.
While the majority of artworks are expected to be two dimensional, the exhibition anticipates the inclusion of various sculptures, objects, and jewelry. This dynamic fusion of artistic expressions on a theme will offer viewers a multi-dimensional experience, capturing the essence and diversity of the Columbia Gorge region.
Trailblazers will highlight how our conserved Gorge lands and the trails running through them invite people into the awe-inspiring beauty that builds stewardship, renews all our spirits, and fuels our creativity. Through this collaborative initiative, 301 Gallery and Friends of the Columbia Gorge aspire to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural landscape while showcasing the artistic talents thriving within the local community.
There will be a First Friday opening at the gallery on June 5, 5-7 p.m. 301 Gallery is located at 301 Oak St., downtown.
