(The Center Square) – Nine of the largest U.S. banks dropped services for customers over political and religious views, according to a report from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency released Wednesday.

The OCC, within the Department of the Treasury, analyzed the practice of "debanking," where a financial institution may suddenly close a customer's bank account or terminate loans.
