THE GORGE — Think you know marigolds? Think again!
Join Master Gardener Jennifer Harty for “What You Didn’t Know About Marigolds,” a free workshop exploring the many uses and surprising qualities of the garden flower. Participants will learn how to grow marigolds, discover their visual appeal and cultural uses, and explore how marigolds can play a role in integrated pest management.
As a hands-on activity, participants will also create a small marigold garland to take home.
Workshops will take place in Hood River on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the OSU Hood River County Extension Office beginning at 10 a.m., and Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the White Salmon Valley Library at 6:30 p.m.
The Central Gorge Master Gardener Association welcomes gardeners of all experience levels to its Garden Gathering series of free educational workshops. Held monthly from March through October, these interactive programs provide practical, research-based gardening information for home gardeners throughout the Columbia Gorge. This is the last class of the 2026 season.
