Saturday, Aug. 22, will be the last day of the 2015 season for the White Salmon City Pool.
The pool opened two weeks early this year, but extending the season to the end of August or into September will not be possible, as all of the certified lifeguards are returning to college or beginning high school sports.
As a reminder, the Pool Use Survey is open until Aug. 31. Anyone within the pool’s service area is asked to provide input to help decide the future of the municipal swimming pool. Questions assess the level of interest in the pool, activities that the community desires, months of the year for usage, and willingness to support the pool by levy, donations or volunteer hours.
The link to the survey can be found on the city Web site (www.white-salmon.net) or paper copies can be found at city hall or the library.
Save the Date: Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m., a public workshop will be held at the Pioneer Center to present survey results and share information on options for the pool. The “Feasibility Study for Municipal Pool Improvements” is available for review at city hall, library, and on the city’s Web site.
