Mosier City Council, June 3 — The skate park is nearly complete and ahead of schedule. Mosier’s fire district is exploring options to build a station separate from the long-planned but not fully funded joint-use facility. Local cemetery space is running out; new plots in one will be on hold pending a plan. From Documenter Chelsea Clark.
Hood River County Energy Council, June 4 — The energy council adopted a work plan to guide projects for the next four years. They need funding and more community involvement. The council is working on resilience projects like solar/battery systems to back up local power, among other things. From Documenter Kenneth Earle.
Skamania County Board of Commissioners, June 9 — Commissioners approved multiple new projects in the Transportation Improvement Program due to the December 2025 storm. They also agreed raising local lodging taxes was unnecessary as not all money is spent now, and talked about hopes for the big U.S. Forest Service reorganization. From Documenter Leah Glasser.
