HOOD RIVER — Hood River County School District’s (HRCSD) June 10 board meeting began with a public hearing on the final Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget. No one provided public comment.
The board unanimously approved the $101,591,761 budget, as well as $5,037,060 in general obligation bond tax rates, as recommended by the district’s budget committee following a May 5 meeting. Construction excise tax rates for the upcoming year were also approved.
The board didn’t offer additional comment prior to passage except to compliment Chief Financial Officer Mark DeMoss for his easy-to-read and thorough budget document. Board Chair Chrissy Reitz said that while adopting the budget might seem performative, it was a year in the making.
“We are now at the endpoint, and that’s why it seems so simple, because of all the work that was put into it,” she said.
Notice of the June 10 budget hearing and financial summary was published May 20, as per Oregon local budget law, DeMoss said. The budget remains on file at the district office, 1011 Eugene St.
