Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Douglas James Frame, 68, of Dufur Oregon, passed away May 16, 2026, in Rye, Colorado, doing what he loved most: Exploring the States. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His presence will be deeply missed. Born on Jan. 24, 1958, son of Don and Jackie Frame, he grew up in Portland, Oregon, and spent summers with family in Wamic, Oregon. He graduated from Jackson High School.
A deeply kind and selfless man, he dedicated many years to being a volunteer of the Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue team. Later in life at the age of 63, he fulfilled a life-long dream earning his EMT certification. He became a committed and loyal volunteer for the Dufur Fire and Ambulance department.
He was extremely adventurous and loved being outdoors. Doug loved a good thrill and adrenaline rush, always seeking out his next challenge and anything fast! He lived a life full of riding motorcycles, racing vintage sprint cars, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking and even climbed to the top of Mount Hood. One of his lifelong passions was motorcycle riding — street, dirt, and sand. His proudest accomplishments were completing an 8,388-mile road trip around the U.S. in just 23 days on his Yamaha Venture motorcycle, as well as his motorcycle being featured on the front cover of the Venture Road magazine while he was touring through Alaska.
Doug is survived by his daughters, Jenny and Melissa Frame, and bonus son, Jathan Stitch; as well as his grandchildren Skylene, Kiley, Jordin and Braydon; great-grandchild Kekoa; and cousin Kathy Gustafson.
The family wishes to thank the Dufur Fire and Ambulance crew and the Dufur community. We are incredibly grateful for your friendship and for supporting him throughout his time as a volunteer EMT.
A memorial service will be held on July 18 at 1 p.m. at the Dufur Community Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at 785 NE First St., Dufur, Oregon.
