TD qualifies five for 4A state tennis

THE DALLES — Two doubles teams and singles player Dante Kim will lead boys district team champion The Dalles High School’s (TDHS) tennis team into the 2026 OSAA Class 4A/3A/2A/1A state tournament.
The Riverhawks qualified the five players at the weather-delayed Special District 4 tournament, which concluded May 15 in Hermiston. The boys matches were held at the courts at Armand Larive Middle School.
Placing third in boys doubles were sophomores Julian Rodriguez and Gunderson Emmett; teammates Zack Pothier, a junior, and senior Jesus Chavez were fourth. Kim, a junior, beat Riverside’s Andrew Calderon in the boys singles third/fourth match. Kim lost to top-seeded and eventual winner Dominic Pulver of Sisters in the semifinals.
