WHITE SALMON – The Columbia High School (White Salmon) boys soccer program (CHS) beat Montesano High School on May 12 in White Salmon in the first round of the 2026 WIAA District 4 (D4) 1A Boys Soccer TournamentÂ
The second-seeded Bruins (14-3-1) started hot against the third-seeded Bulldogs (11-5-2) behind eighth-grader Estiven Hernandez Pena's two first-half goals.
Montesano scored its first goal with just under 20 minutes left in the first half, but the Bruins quickly responded as senior Isaac Reynoso scored with 15 minutes left to make it 3-1.
The Bruins got one more first-half goal from senior Quinn Harty with under 13 minutes to play, making it 4-1 at the break.
Montesano started the second half strong with a goal from sophomore Peter Bruland to make it 4-2 Bruins with 27 minutes left to play.
Bruin junior Anderson Hernandez Pena scored the final goal to seal the deal for Columbia, making it 5-2 with under three minutes left.
Next up, the Bruins travel to Raymond/South Bend High School on May 14 for a 6 p.m. second-round district playoff battle against the top-seeded Ravens (16-0-1).
