Linda Meanus to speak on Celilo Falls

Ms. Meanus will share her life-long knowledge of her culture, celebrations, and traditions. Guests can find her memories of Celilo Falls and its people impactful.

Meanus, as a child, was featured by Hood River teacher and author Martha McKeown in her 1956 book, “Linda’s Indian Home.” Her name, Linda, means “little flower that flows against the river.”

Meanus, who lives in Simnasho, has given extensive programs, for example to the Oregon Historical Society. Wasco County Historical Society, sponsor of this August 10 program, hopes that readers will take advantage of this opportunity. Meanus’ book will be available for cash sales.
