Children’s Park stays open through Sunday

RAMPS, platforms, stairs, swings, monkey bars and the rest of the Children’s Park play structure will be removed starting next week, and the entire park at 9th and Eugene streets will be fenced and closed to make way for a new structure to be built in early June.

Hood River Children’s Park, scheduled for closure, will remain open a week longer than originally thought.

The park will be open through April 22, according to Mark Lago, City of Hood River Public Works director. Lago said the delay was because of the time needed to line up a fencing contractor.
