Last week’s image showed the first-prize winning float from the 1926 Fort Dalles Frolics: a little boy, in a small “airplane” in the bed of a pickup, with a banner that read “Please give me a place to land” and the words “Air Mail.” This seems to be a plea for an airport for mail planes.
