Read and Grow

A Garden Discovery Workshop for Kids & Families will take place on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hood River County Library, 502 State St., Hood River.

HOOD RIVER — Start a lifelong curiosity and joy of gardening with your kids at the Read and Grow workshop presented by OSU Hood River County Extension Service Central Gorge Master Gardeners. Part of the Garden Gathering workshop series, Read and Grow will connect children’s books with real-life planting and ecology while giving hands-on experiences for all ages. Families will be encouraged to garden together through useful, science-based takeaways for adults.

The Read and Grow-Garden Discovery Workshop will include three interactive stations that families can freely rotate through. Each station will be themed around a garden-related children’s book and include a short read-aloud or book display, hands-on activity, a sensory element and learning moment for all ages.
