COLUMBIA GORGE — Books for Kids Columbia Gorge announces a new project.
Since the lobbies at One Community Health (OCH) have nothing for the waiting children to do, Nancy Johanson Paul decided to talk with Dave Ferguson at OCH about the possibility of making the lobbies a learning space for children. Nancy already has access to $600 in books through First Book in Washington, D.C., and the local Books for Kids Advisory Board.
Now Nancy wants to raise $1,000 to buy the magni-tiles and bilingual puzzles needed for the four clinic lobbies: Stevenson, Bingen, Hood River, and The Dalles. You can donate to Books for Kids Columbia Gorge, a non-profit organization by sending your check to PO Box 221 Hood River, PO Box 82 The Dalles, or PO Box 34 White Salmon. The check should be written to Books for Kids Columbia Gorge and noted on the bottom left that the funds are for the “OCH Lobby books/toys project.”
One can also donate at www.booksforkidscg.org to the county where you want the funds to be spent. When you donate note online be sure to note that the funds are for the “OCH Lobby books/toys project.”
Books for Kids Columbia Gorge hopes to have this project completed by June. If able, parents/caretakers will be encouraged to quietly play with their children in the lobbies.
