Darcie Shupe, 18, Glenwood, died April 25, 2003, in a car accident in Glenwood.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1984, in Yakima. She lived in Glenwood and attended Glenwood Schools for 12 years. She was a member of this year's graduating class of 2003. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Snowmobiling with her uncle and friends was her pride and joy.
Ms. Shupe was very active within her school. She was secretary of the ASB and a multi-sport athlete with a "no fear" attitude. She had such a big heart, she would do anything for anyone, with a big smile.
She also spent a lot of time working on her grandparents' farm. She loved watching her grandparents raise her 4-H steers.
Ms. Shupe is survived by her father Bob Shupe, Vancouver; Taunie Shupe, Glenwood; sister Marlena Shupe, Glenwood; grandparents Bubs and Marlene Murray, Glenwood, and Margaret Shupe, Goldendale; great-grandmothers Flora Murray and Mary Ladiges, both of Glenwood; aunts and uncles Joel Patterson and Trudie Harris, Zillah, Eddie Murray and Maria Hutchins, Glenwood, Don Shupe, Goldendale, Lori and Ron Braskett, Vancouver, Larry Shupe of Benton City, Toni Bennett, Centerville; and cousins Bo Harris, Joelle and Lexi Patterson, Allison Hutchins, Bryce and Brent Bennett, Justin, Kim and Jenny Shupe.
A funeral service for Ms. Shupe was held at the Glenwood School on Wednesday, April 30, at 1:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Darcie Shupe Fund, in care of Sterling Savings Bank.
Gardner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
