HRV lacrosse teams in second place

HOOD RIVER — The Hood River Valley girls lacrosse team entered the week in second place in the Oregon Girls Lacrosse Association Portland League standings with an 8-3 record.

The Eagles, ranked fifth in the OGLA, were scheduled to play league-leading and No. 2 Grant High (12-1) of Portland on May 4 and then conclude the 2026 regular season with a May 8 game at fourth-ranked Oregon Episcopal School (8-4).

Hood River extended its winning streak to seven games with its 17-5 victory on May 1 over visiting Central Catholic. The Eagles, coached by Eliza Eaton, also won a game earlier in the week, 16-6, over Portland’s Ida B Wells.

The ninth-ranked HRV boys improved to 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the Oregon Columbia League behind leader — and top ranked — Oregon Episcopal School (13-0) after winning two of three games last week. The Eagles started the week with a 10-7 loss to visiting Lincoln on April 28; beat Central Catholic 18-7 on April 30 at home; and then won a rematch at Lincoln on May 1, 13-5.

Coach Levi Glass’ team concludes its boys regular season with three games this week: May 5 at Grant (at Delta Park); May 6 at home against OES; and May 9 at Ida B Wells in Portland.
