Hood River Valley’s girls soccer team lost its final matches of the season and finished in sixth place in its first year of Northwest Oregon Conference play.
The Eagles fell 6-0 at Hillsboro on Oct. 25 and lost 4-0 at Putnam on Oct. 27. It was the final high school match for six Eagle seniors: Stellar Parker, Sarah Mata, Anaya Castillo, Ximena Santillan, Sarah Davies, and Monty Ruggles.
The No. 14-ranked The Dalles High Riverhawks boys soccer team snapped a four-game winless streak with a 4-1 home win over the Molalla High Indians (2-2-1 TVC, 4-4-1 overall) in a Class 4A Tri-Valley Conference matchup Oct. 3 at the Wahtonka campus.

The Columbia High Bruins girls soccer team has had a great start to the WIAA Class 1A season, winning two-of-three non-league games, including a 2-0 victory over the Tenino High Beavers (2-3-1) Sept. 20 at Tenino High School.
For the second week in a row, No. 8-ranked The Dalles High Riverhawks boys soccer team won by a lopsided margin as they steamrolled the Pendleton High Buckaroos (0-3) 8-1 Sept. 1 at Pendleton High School.
A year ago, a very young Columbia High Bruins girls soccer team — with nine freshmen — struggled for most of the season, facing teams with more experienced players. The Bruins won one WIAA Class 1A Trico League contest and recorded just six wins by the conclusion of the 2021 season.
