Letter to the editor: Harris is best choice

[The Dalles Mayoral Candidate Susan] Harris doesn’t need a list, everyone is just sick of the dictator!

The Quackenbush Gang, wow the list is impressive… the way you push this list on social media gives the impression everyone else should be intimidated and shamed for not being on it. Seriously?

I’ve watched the fancy list of yours online, and it looks like a little boy who has lost his way… He needs friends to reassure him that he is still "King of the Sandbox.” That sounds familiar, kind of like someone who needs a bully pulpit or a dictator mayor. It sure seems you are trying intimidation by numbers. "Don’t cross us for fear of retaliation,” all because Mayor Steve Lawrence was unable to garner one solid endorsement from The Dalles or gorge area. (The good ole boys, coffee buddies, beer chasers don’t count).

I'm sure our voters are not intimidated by this bullying tactic or even impressed; trying to make the list look bigger than it is.

Twenty percent of the people on the list live outside the city limits, 25 percent live outside the area, and 20 percent are not even registered voters.

So good luck with a list of about 70-75 actual votes — I wouldn’t even take that bet in Vegas.

I’m on a fixed income, so do your best to hurt me. Feel free to shame me into submission, too, as you have done with so many citizens of this community.

It seems your impressive list is a tactic of an incumbent who is losing. I guess in the past elections, when Mr. Lawrence bullied others or threatened to "annihilate" them if they ran against him, not having an opponent was a much easier battle.

I’ve watched your posts and seen how your group is out to ruin anyone who speaks up. You are vicious on social media, and will go after someone’s business, family and friends.

I’ll be happy when the election is over and we have a new mayor with an open mind.

Lets clean-up Lawrenceville and neighboring Millersville, and harpoon the spouting whales, The Dalles is better than this!
