River Bandits split series versus Red Roosters

WHITE SALMON — The Columbia River Bandits 17U team went 1-1 last week with a 10-0 win against the Red Roosters 17U club on June 17 and a 13-2 loss against the Red Roosters 18U club on June 21.

The River Bandits (3-5) got going at the plate against the 17U Red Roosters, led by White Salmon’s Kellen Olson, who went 2-2 from the plate with three RBI. Olson also delivered a commanding start on the mound, pitching three innings with eight strikeouts.

Sam Knott and Trenton Boydston finished the game on the mound for the River Bandits, each pitching an inning with two strikeouts.

Against the 18U Roosters, Olson got another start on the mound, pitching three innings with three strikeouts. Boydston stepped in for Olson with a strikeout in one inning pitched. At the plate, Boydston went 1-2 with an RBI; he had his team’s only hit of the day.
