HOOD RIVER — The second Indian Creek Trail Poetry Walk will launch on April 1 with a Poetry Reading and slideshow at the Hood River County Library from 6-8 p.m. The reading is free and open to the public.
The Poetry Walk will exhibit 20 nature-themed poems at intervals along the Indian Creek Trail, crossing through the town of Hood River for 2.7 miles. At the April 1 launch, local poets will read their poems, which were juried and selected especially for this year’s installation.
This is the second year of the Poetry Walks, which begins in April to commemorate National Poetry Month. Poems are displayed for six months on durable signs with background images contributed by local photographers. Also, don’t miss the signs from last year’s Poetry Walk, on display in the downstairs meeting room at the library until the end of March.
The Poetry Walk is a collaboration of the Hood River County Library and the Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation Districts.
