Night closures are planned on the Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge.
Photo courtesy Port of Hood RiverHOOD RIVER — The Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority has requested overnight closures of the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge to support geotechnical exploration near the Washington shoreline for the Bridge Replacement Project.
The closures are needed to safely lower drilling equipment from the existing bridge, perform the exploration work and retrieve the equipment. The work will follow an approved and validated process designed to avoid damage to the existing bridge.
The bridge is scheduled to close from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the following windows:
The equipment-lowering and retrieval work may be completed in fewer nights. Multiple closure windows have been scheduled in case the work cannot be completed during the initial closures. Updates will be provided if any scheduled closures are no longer needed.
Travelers should plan ahead and use an alternate route during the closure hours.
