 Lucille Begay, a member of the Yakama Nation from Wyam (Celilo Village), visited third graders at Whitson Elementary last month. March 10 marked the anniversary of the day Celilo Falls was inundated by the Dalles Dam, and Begay shared that while she never had the chance to see the powerful falls herself, she remembers listening to her grandmother describe witnessing that historic moment.
