GOLDENDALE — An interactive butchery demonstration on Oct. 19 will discuss consumer trends and best practices for producers of red meat, organized by Washington State University Extension Service animal and meat science experts.
The event is at WA-Meat Up mobile processing unit from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Discussions include how to maximize value from your animals, what consumer preferences are and why they matter, how to communicate with and keep customers, what affects meat quality and yield, and pricing strategies to use versus your production costs.
Also learn about grant and assistance opportunities, and ask questions about regulations.
