WHITE SALMON — White Salmon Valley School District (WSVSD) has two new assistant principals who will start July 1.
Trisha Eddy will serve as the K–6 assistant principal and Jim Donnelly as the 7–12 assistant principal.
“We are excited to welcome Trisha and Jim into these leadership roles,” said Superintendent Rich Polkinghorn. “Both bring a strong commitment to student learning, meaningful relationships, and continuous improvement. Throughout the selection process, it was clear that their experience and leadership align well with our district’s vision for supporting every student.”
Eddy brings more than 20 years of experience in elementary education and currently serves as the district’s K–4 math specialist. In that role, she has helped lead district-wide math initiatives, strengthen intervention systems, and support high-quality, collaborative instruction, Polkinghorn said.
“Her background in instructional coaching and school improvement, along with her deep knowledge of WSVSD, positions her well to support students, staff, and families in the K–6 program,” he said.
Donnelly joins WSVSD from Hood River County School District, where he most recently served as assistant principal and interim principal at Hood River Valley High School. He began his career as an English teacher before moving into instructional coaching and school leadership. He was recognized as the Oregon Teacher of the Year for the Columbia River Region in 2021.
“Jim brings experience in AVID and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, along with a strong background in athletics and coaching,” Polkinghorn said.
The WSVSD Board of Directors is scheduled to take formal action to approve both appointments at its May 28 board meeting.
