Sex crimes — A tip resulted in citation of a local by OSP, once convicted of a felony sex crime, who didn’t realize they had to register in Oregon regardless of the relief granted them in Montana.
The Dalles police made eight domestic violence logs, two of sex crimes. From Oct. 20 to Nov. 2, White Salmon-Bingen reported a sex crime and a domestic violence incident.
Assault — Hood River police arrested a male for menacing and disorderly conduct for allegedly threatening another male at the library. On Oct. 31, report of assault at a local business.
Non-injury crashes — OSP recorded three. In one, a towing company asked for help retrieving a vehicle from SR-207 on Nov. 1. The driver slid down a 15-20-foot slop, narrowly missing a big tree. Also, a car got rear-ended, and another hydroplaned.
From Oct. 20 to Nov. 2, White Salmon reported two non-injury crashes.
Injured — Multiple vehicles crashed on I-84 on Nov. 1, after a Subaru hydroplaned into a Chevy Tahoe and both lost control, damaging a guardrail. The Subaru’s driver got minor injuries, and was cited by OSP.
Huntin’ and fishin’ — Troopers seized a deer’s brain and spinal column, illegal to import, from a hunter; cited an angler for fishing closed Eagle Creek; cited a Herman Creek angler for bad intentions toward a wild Coho.
DUIIs — OSP arrested a driver with a blood alcohol level of 0.24%. On Nov. 3, a semi scraped several hundred feet of guardrail near milepost 70 on I-84, swept through it and stopped blocking the road to Mosier; OSP cited the driver.
Charges — Last week, OSP charged people with angling in closed area (one), DUII (3), fail to report (one), fugitive from other state (one), warrant (one).
From Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, Hood River police added assault (one), disorderly conduct (one), DUII (two), hit-and-run (two), menacing (one), and trespass (one). And last month, Hood River deputies charged folks with assault (three), drug violation (one), DUII (seven), charge not logged (two), fail to perform duties of driver (one), false info (one), gun violation (one), harassment (one), interfering (one), minor in possession (four), mischief (two), trespass (one), reckless driving (two), unlawful entry to vehicle (two), warrant (six).
Finally, White Salmon-Bingen police, from Oct. 20 to Nov. 2: Assault (one), disorderly conduct (one), DWLS citations (three), theft (one).
Thefts and frauds — Wasco logged two frauds, two thefts last week. The Dalles had 12 theft logs, with six on W. Sixth, and two fraud logs.
Hood River had attempted theft at Walmart, ID theft, $6,500 in tools from a truck, and fuel from fleet vehicles Oct. 26-Nov. 1; plus two fake $100 bills at Walmart.
Mental Health — There were mental health calls from Wasco County and The Dalles last week. On Nov. 27, Hood River deputies placed an elderly female on a mental health hold.
Kids with drugs — On Nov. 21, Hood River police cited a kid at HRVHS for having marijuana. In October, Hood River deputies cited three minors for marijuana.
Other smashups — Wasco logged four crashes last week. The Dalles had seven, with two each on W. Ninth and Pomona. The previous week, Hood River reported two crashes (in one, three vehicles collided and a driver needed medical attention) plus two hit-and-run arrests.
Burglars — The Dalles police made two burglary logs on Mt. Hood Street on Nov. 6.
Drugs — Wasco County recorded three incidents on Webber, W. Second, and another location; The Dalles, one, on W. Sixth.
Missing — The Dalles logged a missing person on Floral Court last week. Last month, Hood River deputies took one missing person report.
Interfering — On Nov. 23, deputies arrested a Hood River county resident on harassment, criminal mischief II, illegally entering vehicle, interfere with making a police report.
Mischief — On Nov. 15, Hood River deputies found six juveniles who trespassed and “committed criminal mischief” at Wy’east Middle School, making at least one arrest.
Search and rescue — Hood River deputies did three last month: three hikers in distress on Timberline, injured mountain biker at Post Canyon, car stuck in snow on a Forest Service road.
Hood River County in October — Eight non-injury crashes, and five with injury, including an ATV rollover on Binns Hill Road injuring a youth; 13 thefts including two stolen cars, an elderly scam victim, firearms from a home, registration plates, theft of services and tailgate of a pickup.
Possible gang-related graffiti in Odell on Nov. 7. Shots fired from vehicle toward bicyclists near Hood River on Nov. 5, resulting in an arrest. Deputies responded to illegal discharge of a gun during a domestic incident. They also made three logs of suicidal behavior, found a missing juvenile, arrested at least one person after “multiple reports of multiple explosions” on Hess Road Nov. 4, nabbed a stolen motorcycle from Mark O. Hatfield trailhead, and logged two four cases fraud or ID theft.
Passing gas — On Nov. 22, a company in White Salmon was notified of broken gas line by city police. On Nov. 23, another hazmat call, passed to another agency.
