Last week’s image, shown at right, got no responses. So all we know fore sure is that this photo, scanned from an old black-and-white print, shows a winding stack of lumber on a muddy plain, perhaps flood debris or lost tugboat cargo washed up near the Columbia River. We’re still happy to hear from anybody who knows more about this image!

 It was taken near The Dalles in about 1944, and now resides at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and Museum, where it’s item number 2023.15.016 in the collections.
