The Dalles photographer Gary Elkinton captured a partial lunar eclipse on Aug. 27. As explained by NASA, the Moon passed in the shadow of the Earth, “creating a deep partial eclipse ... This part of the eclipse [was] visible in the Americas (except Alaska and northwestern Canada), western Europe and Western Africa.”
