Last week’s mystery, right, showed the Frances of Aberdeen Washington in dock. Not very mysterious since she has her name right there on the bow. Nobody felt inspired to call in and point this out, and we can’t blame them — but if you have a story about this boat, we’d still love to hear it.

That photo came from the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center archive, where it’s number 2023.40.075 in the collections. The museum said it’s taken in June 1952, and shows 4-H and FFA youth leaving on this boat, which was an Inland Navigation Company River Cruise directed by Carl Floten. It possibly had something to do with that years “Fat Stock Show and Sale.”
