Last week’s ‘Mystery,’ which nobody identified, was taken in the Hood River area in about 1912 by Ella May Davidson. These two men are spraying chemicals from a horse-drawn machine onto a blooming orchard. At the time, steam-powered chemical sprayers were a rather new invention. They look very proud of it, don’t they? How about this image, above? It’s taken from an old edition of The Dalles Chronicle. Send your stories to Martin Gibson at 541-993-1801 or florag@gorgenews.com, and we’ll print them all next week!
