Forrest Smith and Linis Foster Rozema reenact their ancestors’ handshake that opened the Bridge of the Gods in 1926 on Oct. 1, one of several events held to commemorate the centennial milestone. Smith is the great grandson of Theodore Iman, and Rozema is the granddaughter of Flora Iman, Theodore’s sister. In 1926, Flora walked from the Oregon side to shake hands with her brother Theodore, who walked from the Washington side.
