Future scientists check out mouse mazes with Hood River Valley High School’s Research and Genetics class at a past STEM Fair. This year’s event will be June 22 at Columbia Gorge Community College’s The Dalles campus.
THE GORGE — The 2024 Gorge STEM Fair, a free, outdoor family-friendly event, focused on all things STEM in the Gorge, will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at The Dalles campus of Columbia Gorge Community College, 400 E. Scenic Drive.
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
This new location will provide middle and high school students an opportunity to explore the college’s cutting-edge STEM programs and laboratory spaces.
Each booth will host free interactive activities for families to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) together. Booths are hosted by local organizations, schools, or STEM industries. Previous booth hosts have included: Insitu, Sierra-Olympia Technologies, Hood River County School District’s STEM FAB Bus, Hood River New School, A05 Annex Robotics, Fort Vancouver Regional Library, Hood River County Library, Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, Gorge Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol, Hood River Watershed Group, Mt. Hood Meadows, Four Rivers Family Early Learning and Parenting Hub, Play and Learn at Home, Fruit Loops Art Center and more.
The STEM Fair is hosted annually by the Columbia Gorge STEM Hub, a department of the Columbia Gorge Education Service District, in close collaboration with many local businesses, organizations, and schools.
