Orchard Road fire

THE DALLES — On Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3:27 p.m., fire crews responded to a brush fire off of Orchard Road, just southeast of The Dalles near Powerline Road.

Incident commanders, upon size-up, quickly called for additional aid, including air support from a helicopter currently working the Grasshopper Fire. Initially reported to be five acres, the fire grew to 165 acres as of press time. One barn and outbuilding were lost to the flames, but no residences or other buildings were impacted. No injuries were reported.
