Take a step back in time — be a part of a live radio show audience for the CAST Theater production of “It’s A Wonderful Life” at Columbia Center for the Arts. “It’s A Wonderful Life,” a holiday “live radio drama” will take to the stage from Dec. 6-20.
Sponsored by Jeff Sacre of Director’s Mortgage and Ruby Mason of Windermere Realty, this is the first performance of the play “It’s A Wonderful Life” in the Columbia River Gorge.
In keeping with the season, donations to The Christmas Project, which delivers food and gifts to local residents in need, will be taken at all performances of the play.
This family-friendly holiday CAST 2014 production will bring new meaning and sounds to the Bedford Falls story of good will and cheer. “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” is a fully-staged take on a timeless classic — just like you heard it on the radio — and imagined it in 1948.
“It’s a Wonderful Life,” a radio play by Philip Grecian based on the film by Frank Capra, is directed by Gary Young, with Associate Director Kathy Williams and Producer Adrian Chaton and staring the ensemble cast of the Columbia Gorge Radio Players of CAST and Columbia Center for the Arts.
The cast of “Its a Wonderful Life” will be taking part in the Hood River Holiday Kick-off Party activities on Dec. 5 and the play will open on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
There will be two matinee performances of “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Sunday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 14, both at 2 p.m. Performance dates for “It’s a Wonderful Life” are Dec. 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on Dec. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors (62 and over), $10 for children 11 and under, $12 for groups of 10 or more.
CAST Theater is also offering a special holiday family package for this show with two adult tickets and two students/children for $50. Tickets are available at Waucoma Bookstore, Columbia Art Gallery and online at www.columbiaarts.org
