KLICKITAT CO. — On June 26, a Golendale-area resident was arrested on local charges of possessing child pornography, later on federal sex crime charges.
Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) helped Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force execute a Federal Search warrant at the residence of Corbett Craig, a registered sex offender.
When the HIS investigators, ICAC Task Force, Air Support and the KCSO arrived, an adult person and young child were located. The adult and child remained outside of the residence to allow an extensive search for evidence. The suspect, Corbett Craig, was not found there.
KCSO Detective Kirstin Leroue worked with the Department of Children, Youth and Families to remove the child from the home.
HSI Task Force Officer Casey Gillette was granted a Federal Arrest Warrant for Corbett Craig on the same evening. The Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office kept investigating possible locations of Craig, finding him at around 5:45 p.m. in High Prairie. Craig was detained and arrested without incident. He was transported to the Klickitat County Jail on local charge of Possession of Child Pornography.
On June 27th, Corbett Craig was released on local charges and transported to Yakima to be held on Federal charges.
This is an ongoing investigation and if you would have any information on this case or others, please contact KCSO at 509-773-4455.
