THE DALLES — The City of The Dalles has contracted Crestline Construction to complete construction of the Chenowith Elementary West 10th Street Bike & Pedestrian Facilities project. This project includes sidewalks (river side), storm drainage, signage & pavement markings, along with roadway improvements. Project limits run on 10th Street between Chenowith Loop Road and Snipes Street.
Construction may impact local access to your home or business progress throughout the summer with a completion scheduled for the end of August. Single lane closures with flaggers may take place; delays will be minimal as detour routes will guide traffic through or around the work zones as the project progresses.
This work is planned to take place on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.Â
"We encourage foot and bike traffic to stay on the west side (non-river side) of the street to avoid the work zone. Please use caution and be patient while passing through work zones, watch for all changes to traffic control and be attentive to the directions of construction workers that you may encounter," said a press release.
Crestline will also be doing press releases informing the public of the changes in major detours or closures.
"We truly appreciate your patience with this project," said the press release.
