During the first week of January, the Washington Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council will hold two public meetings to take comments regarding the proposed Whistling Ridge Energy Project.
The Whistling Ridge project is a wind energy proposal to construct and operate a wind turbine farm in Skamania County, about seven miles north of the city of White Salmon.
The project would provide infrastructure for 75 megawatts of wind turbine electrical generation. The project is proposed to be located within a 1,152 acre site on land currently used as private commercial forest land. Approximately 50 wind turbines would be required.
The public comment meetings will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, and Thursday, Jan. 6. The Jan. 5 meeting will be at the Underwood Community Center in Underwood. That meeting will start at 3:30 p.m. The Jan. 6 meeting, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will be at the Rock Creek Center on the Skamania County Fairgrounds in Stevenson.
