Imagine over 20 of the Gorge's best restaurants, wineries and breweries under one roof, each offering a sample of its very best fare.
Imagine dining in the clouds, or at least among the airplanes in the newly opened Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum.
Imagine the chance to bid on vacation packages, airplane rides and candlelight dinners in the catacombs, as well as beautiful ceramic platters painted by your favorite local artists.
Imagine art residencies, classes, workshops and performances in every school in the Columbia Gorge.
All of this becomes reality on Saturday, April 5, from 6 to 9 p.m., when Columbia Gorge Arts in Education hosts the 5th annual Bite of the Gorge, a fundraiser for arts in the schools.
"We are thrilled," director Leith Gaines states, "to announce our new venue, the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum."
Other evening offerings include a silent auction and an exhibit of "Flight," a public art piece created by HRVHS students in collaboration with fashion designer Holly Wood.
Tickets are $40 and include museum admission, 1 drink ticket, and tastes from all participating restaurants. Tickets are available at Waucoma Books, HR community Education, Klindt's Booksellers and Collage of the Gorge in White Salmon, as well as at the door. VIP tables may be reserved by calling (541) 387-5031.
Columbia Gorge Arts in Education provides artist residencies, workshops, after-school programs and other arts opportunities to children and adults in the Mid-Columbia. Last year its programs served over 3000 students.
