The Food Preservation Festival at Rockford Grange in Hood River on Sept. 24 was a packed house, with community members learning about food preservation, complete with guest speakers and live demonstrations. Above, Lorraine Carlstrom, author of the cookbook “Roo’s Kitchen” (www.rooskitchen.com) demonstrates a Dutch oven sourdough bread with a free starter. The event was organized by the Rockford Grange in partnership with Gorge Grown Foot Network.
