Janet Nunamaker, 78, of Hood River, Oregon, passed away peacefully on Sept. 17, 2025. Born in Hood River, she grew up in Parkdale, Oregon, where her family operated an orchard.
She met her husband, Don Nunamaker, while working in downtown Hood River, and they shared more than 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. Together they built a family and a respected real estate business.
She is survived by her brother, Terry Tambara (Parkdale); her daughter Alison Nunamaker, son in-law Mychal Lucas; daughter Ashley Nunamaker-Bello, son in-law Isidro Bello; and her six grandchildren, Kenadie Lucas, Drew Lucas, Rylie Lucas, Hadlie Lucas, Alexa Bello and Aliyah Bello.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nunamaker Family Fund at the Gorge Community Foundation, gorgecf.org .
A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at Anderson’s Tribute Center in Hood River on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow.
