Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
John Hollis Finn, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of Sept. 28, 2025, with his devoted wife, Pam, by his side. John was born on Dec. 2, 1953, in Wisconsin. He spent his life rooted in love, laughter, and kindness, always ready to give himself to family, friends, and even strangers in need.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Pam; his five children, Stephanie, Carmichael, Cade, Sam, and Sierra; and their partners, whom he welcomed as his own family — Sarah, Katie, Kamilla, and Stephan. John’s greatest joy was being a grandfather to Jack, Hunter, and Steezy, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister Cindy and her children, Ryan and Tamera.
John was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, an enthusiastic lover of football, and someone who found peace and wonder in nature and animals. A true appreciator of sound, John had a deep love of music that he joyfully shared with his children and grandchildren, teaching them to find meaning, beauty, and connection through it. He built and ran his own business, Columbia Cascade Pest Control, where he treated every customer like family and was known for going above and beyond to help others.
Known for his quick wit, contagious laugh, and unwavering optimism, John brightened the lives of everyone he met. His kindness knew no limits — he often stepped into roles as a caregiver, friend, or even parent to those who needed one, always without hesitation. John’s legacy of love, generosity, humor, and music will live on in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather together to honor him with the warmth and joy he deserves. Arrangements are under the direction of Gardner Funeral Home, 156 NE Church Ave., White Salmon, Washington. Visit www.GardnerFH.com to share a story or leave a note for the family.
