CGN photo/fileThe Dalles High Riverhawk senior Katelyn Vassar and Dufur High Ranger sophomore Tygh Timinsky capped fabulous seasons by competing in the OSAA Class 4A/3A/2A/1A Golf State Championships on May 13-14 at Tokatee Golf Club in McKenzie.
Timinsky shot 85-91 for a 36-hole score of 176; she was seventh out of a field of 65 golfers.
“Tygh had a tremendous conclusion to her season,” said Coach Travis Kane. “The golf course was playing extremely tough on both days. The greens were firm and fast with speeds upwards of 13.5 on the Stemp meter.”
Vassar, guided by third-year Coach Nate Timmons, was competing in the final event of her The Dalles High School golf career. She shot 97-97 for a 36-hole score of 194 and finished in a tie for 20th. Vassar qualified for the state tourney all four of her spring seasons playing for The Dalles.
