MAUPIN — Sherman County beat host South Wasco County, 48-12, in a six-man football game Friday in Maupin.
It was Sherman’s fourth straight six-man win, after its season opening loss to Joseph. The Huskies are 4-1 and in a three-way tie for second place in Special District 1 along with Joseph and Dayville/Monument/Long Creek — which hosts Sherman on Oct. 3 in Dayville.
South Wasco is now 1-4 and is scheduled to play Oct. 3 at Ione/Arlington, which shares seventh place in the 10-team league standings with the Redsides and Wallowa.
