Eagles drop two more non-league games with NWOC play looming

HOOD RIVER — Unbeaten Mountain View, the OSAA’s 12th ranked softball team, swept a doubleheader April 3 against visiting Hood River Valley (HRV) by identical 10-0 scores.
HRV has two non-league games remaining this week before starting its final Northwest Oregon Conference season April 14, which kicks off with a two-game series against Parkrose. The Eagles (0-8) were scheduled to play at Corvallis (2-4) on April 7 before hosting The Dalles/Dufur on April 9 at Westside Elementary. The Dalles is 8-1 and the second-ranked Class 4A team in Oregon.
Hood River is ranked 20th in Class 5A despite its eight losses. Coach Madelynn Vallejo’s Eagles have played a formidable schedule against teams with a combined record of 38-14. Corvallis will be the first team HRV has played this season with a losing record. Parkrose, the Eagles’ first NWOC opponent in 2026, is 0-5 thus far.
Hood River, a state playoff team in 2025, will move to the Class 5A East Metro Conference in the fall of 2026. Â
