THE GORGE — The Columbia High School golf squad squared up against Seton Catholic College Prep on Sept. 25 at Indian Creek Golf Course in Hood River, where the Cougars came out on top in the nine-hole match.
Seton Catholic’s top four finished with 184 strokes, and Columbia finished with 212. Seton freshman Henry Hayward was a medalist, shooting a 43.
For the Bruins, sophomore Garrick Sauter tied for fourth overall with a round of 49. Sophomore Eli Slayton took eighth place at 52, and sophomore Gabe Borton followed in ninth with a 53. Junior Jack Friberg and sophomore Jayden Stanton tied for 10th with 58s. Junior Owen Tegart rounded out the team in 12th place with a 59.
The Bruins play Stevenson on Oct. 1 at Indian Creek.
