Bruins finish sixth in District 4 1A Trico tourney

WHITE SALMON —Columbia High (CHS) finished sixth at the 2026 WIAA District 4 1A wrestling tournament Feb. 7 at Kalama High School.

The Bruins scored 93.5 team points; Castle Rock won the eight-team tourney with 349 points.

Columbia had seven district placers, led by third-place finishers Giovanni Ruiz and Robert Grabb IV. Ruiz lost in the semifinals at 132 pounds before rebounding to win the third-place match over Boston Carter of Castle Rock. Ruiz earned a spot in the third-place match with a consolation win over Brysen Campbell of Stevenson. Grabb IV won his 165-pound consolation match by decision over Colin McDonald of Castle Rock and then won by forfeit in the third-place match.

William Polkinghorn was fourth in the 144-pound bracket. He lost in the semifinals but won one of two matches in consolation to place.

Columbia had two fifth-place and two sixth-place finishers. Titus DeHart was fifth at 106 pounds, winning two of his four matches. Ezekial Carl was fifth at 150, also winning two of his four matches. Wyatt Pulido was sixth at 126, winning one of three matches, and Gabe Pulido was sixth at 175. Razo Salazar won one of three wrestled matches to place fourth for the Bruins.
