Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
With heavy hearts, the family of Rayline Dobbs, are sad to express the great loss of our mom, grandma (Mar Mar), great-grandma and sister. She passed away peacefully in her home in The Dalles, Oregon, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.
She is survived by her brother Jodie Polzel; her oldest daughter, Cheri Fox, and her five children and seven grandchildren; her son RJ Mersch, his wife Shelly, and their six children and 12 grandchildren; and her youngest daughter, Rachael Farabee, her husband Cody and two sons.
Everyone who knew her knew she was quick witted, feisty and a force to be reckoned with and was always there for her family and friends. She had many artistic gifts she was known for: oil and water color painting, photography, crocheting and knitting as well as being an incredible seamstress. We can’t forget to mention her baking ... as there were often fights over the last of her baked treats.
She went to high school in Corbett and Cascade Locks, Oregon. For more than 35 years, she has worked as the Environmental Technician lll at The Dalles Dam. Her family, life long friends, and community will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
